Thus, Sarawakians should prepare themselves to join in this global business, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, advised when delaring open the e-commerce and e-income training course in Limbang yesterday.

It was organised by the Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development.

“You must have the audacity to dream big in e-commerce as the world is the marketplace for your products through the Internet and ICT platform,” he said.

He further said that there were many government programmes to assist entrepreneurs to develop and market the many quality products from the various divisions in the state.

Among them, he highlighted, are incubators and product collection centres that are available in all districts.

He also said the proposed RM20-million digital village in Kuching is one of the major steps to encourage the growth and use of digital economy.

Besides that, there are also various government financial assistance schemes such as Tekun and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) that also provide training to aspiring entrepreneurs, he added.

“Do not be afraid of failure but treat it as the foundation of future success as this is the culture and spirit of the successful Chinese entrepreneurs who are always willing to learn,” he advised.
