25th November 2023 - An eventful and impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program took place at the Longhouses in Batang Ai, Lubok Antu. The aim of the CSR program was to raise awareness about climate change, carbon credits, engage the local community, and foster a sense of stewardship towards the environment.
The program featured an enlightening climate change awareness talk, with the speaker presenting on the common causes and impact of climate change, carbon credit and sustainable practices emphasizing the need for immediate action to mitigate climate change.
A member of Regenerative X, Superb Cleaning Services Company also generously contributed to the program by providing volunteer cleaning services. Their dedicated team displayed remarkable diligence in tidying up the outdoor communal spaces around the longhouse, demonstrating a commendable commitment to the community's well-being and environmental upkeep.
Engagement with the local community also formed an integral part of the program. These exchanges allows the chance for discussion and sharing of ideas, reinforcing a clearer understanding about climate change and the benefits of carbon credits. In addition, stationery items were donated to the children, as a sign of support and to aid them in their education.
Other activities include a boat-making activity with the longhouse community and mesmerizing cultural performances by the cultural club of i-CATS University College. The cultural performances showcased the rich artistic heritage of the community through traditional music and dance creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity.
This program exemplified the power of community collaboration and engagement in addressing the pressing issue of climate change. With positive feedback and response from the community, this is merely the beginning of a continuous effort to engage with communities, drive awareness, and take definitive, meaningful steps to address the environmental challenges we all face. To solidify these efforts, Regenerative X Association invites individuals and organizations to get involved by supporting their future initiatives and programs that aim at educating and empowering communities on environmental stewardship.
